Brewers Art

Saturday February 19th, 2011.

I got there about 5:30 and was surprised to see that the bar area was pretty full. I thought I would never get a seat and be able to have dinner, but I got lucky about 15 minutes and got a seat at the bar.  I had already ordered a Resurrection Beer while standing at the bar and that was amazingly good.  Once seated I ordered the Crispy Veal Sweetbreads with Truffled Cauliflower Mousseline, Frisee, Lardons, Exotic Mushrroms, Quail Egg, and a Warm Sherry-Bacon Vinaigrette.  I settled for the $5 house cabernet (the wine list is not amazing, but that's ok, because the food is!!).. Ok... so next I had the Cesear Salad with a parmesan crouton and ONE white anchovie.. I love anchovies so would have preferred THREE!!! But the salad was excellent and the dressing a perfect consistency.  Final course... AMAZING... the CHEESE COURSE... ok... better than Charlestons!! Not Kidding!! $13!!! a choice of three (3)!!! I had these.... Meadow Creek Appalachian from Virginia ( a raw cow's milk cheese, very buttery, with earthy undertones), the Pierre Robert.. to die for!!
A Triple-creme cow's mild cheese, simply melts in your mouth, but must be a strong cheese lover.  The third was the Chipotle Glenn Ash, a delicate goat cheese. Can I just say .. TRY THIS... OMG.. and made right here in Frederick.  The meal was awesome.. the service excellant. GO HERE NOW!!!
